Any way to use glove box hdmi for wireless CarPlay adapter and charging my phone?

I have the Alpine INE-W987HD in my GT with wireless CarPlay adapter plugged into the glovebox hdmi cable. I’d like to be able to run my MagSafe charging cable into the glovebox as it would look so much cleaner than running a plug to the cigarette plug. Has anyone figured out how to split data and power so we can use the one cable for both charging and wireless CarPlay? Thanks!

Not sure it's possible but you may be able to keep the HDMI for the wireless car play and use the USB for the charging? Crutchfield can probably confirm or deny. That said, if you are going to put your phone in the glove box anyway, why not just plug it in at that point, utilizing wired car play and charge?

(or just get the ilx-507 or the 9" halo and all problems solved, including two USB ports and a fix to the crappy aux camera imaging)

EDIT: I misread what you wrote, so the question is... doesn't this unit have BOTH an HDMI and separate USB?
