Pardon my lack of knowledge, but did 2008 have both the S and S240 models? How can you visually tell the difference?

Thanks.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the only S220's imported to the US in 2008 were the Club Racers.

While the only actual S220's in MY2008 in the US were indeed the Club Racers, the brochures and marketing collateral at the time (I snagged a few from the local Lotus dealer back then) said there WOULD be an S220 Exige in MY 2008 in the US, but without an intercooler (like the SC Elise). The marketing brochures also indicate the 2008 S220 would have the M45 supercharger while the S240 would have the M62.

To my knowledge none actually came into the US, other than the Club Racer which did have the IC. But I think one or two might have found their way into Canada.

See scan below for the MY2008 cars that were supposed to come to the U.S.

In 2008, there were 2 versions. S240 and S 'Club Racer'.
The Club Racer is mechanically 2007 S220 with bits from S240 thrown in(brakes, etc). But, it has exclusive paint, interior, and its 'special edition' nature as there are only 20 of them in North America (17 US, 3 Canada) and 25 for Europe.

They way you'd tell is that it has shorter non-mohawk roof, cloudy sky blue paint with black stripes, and a sticker that says club racer by the side marker.

The easiest ways to identify an "S" (220) versus the S240 are the larger front calipers and full hood scoop on the 2008.

Horsepower difference was obtained (mostly) by increasing the throttle body opening. You can easily flash a 2007 S to S260 (or greater) levels. I'm at 281rwhp (~320 bhp) on a 2007 S with the stock MP62.

The S260 has the carbon fiber accents, and some MY I believe do have specific designation on the exterior.

But the visual short hand, stock, from factory:

S220 in the US. Short scoop on the roof.
S240 in the US. Mohawk scoop on the roof.
S260 in the US. Mohawk scoop on the roof, carbon fiber accents. Some exterior badging.

BUT...folks mod them. On my 07 S220 I mounted a CF/body color painted full Mohawk roof.

And of course as of 2010 the rear wing was different, and the S220 by that time was long gone.
