I have decided to sell my Evora 400 with 8539 miles on her. The Good: Car has quite a bit of carbon on the inside along with the splitter and sides skirts on the outside. The wheels have been powdercoated, she runs perfectly with no engine lights on the dash. I had the threshold panels and front master cylinder door hydrodipped carbon fiber. The mesh grills in the front were made by me (it should have come this way from the factory imho),I also crinkle painted the engine cover like the GT. The mirrors are the GRP carbon variety and look great. I also added the vinyl spats behind the doors along with the external battery charging port. The front and rear stripes were also added by me along with the GRP rear tail lights and I blacked out the Lotus badge on back and changed all the yellow/green badges on the car (wheels, steering wheel, front nose) to black/silver . PPF on front of car,Alcantara upgraded interior, upgraded floormats.
The eh so-so: The car has a rebuilt title. The original owner let his neighbor drive the car and the guy ran it into a pole on his fence (see pic). It just clipped the passenger wheel (see pics),the car was sent to the local Lotus dealer where he had purchased the car and they said the frame was bent. This is where it gets fishy, the guy went up front and said if the car was totaled he was going to buy another car (this was during CoVid when not many cars were being sold)-I spoke with the original owner and he said he felt the dealer just totaled the car to sell another one to him-but has no proof.. The car was sold at Copart to the second owner that had it repaired. THERE WAS NO FRAME WORK DONE TO THIS CAR nor was any body panels replaced-all that was replaced was the lower wishbone, tie rods, steering rack, undertray and a new front wheel as the original was cracked and scratched up-that is why the wheels were powdercoated gray -I have the receipts. I brought the car in to Auto Europe in Birmingham to have it checked out for my own piece of mind and had a more agressive alignment done (a bit more negative camber and less toe-in/similar to the 410 or 430),the tech said she took an alignment fine and he saw no evidence of any damage underneath to the frame and gave it a clean bill of health. So there you have it-this car is a 9.5 out of 10 all day long...

Receipt from Auto Europe for work I had done... Btw,the car had not had an alignment prior to me bringing it to Auto Europe and the car drove fine-the service man said it was not much off the factory specs before he adjusted it to my specs... Rich

If the dealership misled the insurance company and/or their customer in order to total the car for their benefit, that's fraud. Pretty clear cut.

I forgot I also changed the front side indicators to clear-I think they look better. Btw,I also have all the original parts that go along with the car and some people have questioned whether the red accents on the splitter and side skirts is paint-it is not and can be removed if so desired... Also, she is a 2+2 with the upgraded Alcantara interior..
