They don't actually own Lotus, but they're a major investor, so they do have a stake in how things are going there. The gray car we've all seen was literally the first running car they put together, so it's virtually a prototype as opposed to a production car. The non-running blue car was basically a studio model assembled with a lot of 3D printed parts; again, not a production car. The blue and now yellow car we've seen in China, are in fact off the production line so that's why they look like they're off the production line. Considering how much money Geely invested into the company, it's perfectly understandable that they would be getting examples of what their investment has produced. This is to validate the investment as being worthwhile, and encourage their investors to continue with the investment. Of course China is going to be an important market, simply because of the sheer size of it, but that doesn't mean Lotus is shorting everybody else. We'll get to see all the colors on cars, we'll get to see the press reviews from the press cars, and soon enough we'll get to read the excited reports of the first few lucky ones to begin receiving their cars. Once that happens, what we're going through now will quickly become a distant memory. Patience Padawan; patience.
