The smoothness of the coloring will depend on the light source. The pictures of the yellow car in China are not daylight with global illumination. We don't even know the color temperature of the light but it's probably not daylight white, so that will affect the color on the car. What you did looks good however, and I think anyone ordering Hethel will be pleased with the car in that color.

They don't actually own Lotus, but they're a major investor, so they do have a stake in how things are going there. The gray car we've all seen was literally the first running car they put together, so it's virtually a prototype as opposed to a production car. The non-running blue car was basically a studio model assembled with a lot of 3D printed parts; again, not a production car. The blue and now yellow car we've seen in China, are in fact off the production line so that's why they look like they're off the production line. Considering how much money Geely invested into the company, it's perfectly understandable that they would be getting examples of what their investment has produced. This is to validate the investment as being worthwhile, and encourage their investors to continue with the investment. Of course China is going to be an important market, simply because of the sheer size of it, but that doesn't mean Lotus is shorting everybody else. We'll get to see all the colors on cars, we'll get to see the press reviews from the press cars, and soon enough we'll get to read the excited reports of the first few lucky ones to begin receiving their cars. Once that happens, what we're going through now will quickly become a distant memory. Patience Padawan; patience.

You've really done some excellent renderings Eagle7! I think with the current paint offerings I would be HY/Tan with lower black pack, red calipers and would wrap the upper black pack that way it would be possible to easily revert to base color and add protection at same time. Now if they could only get the V-6 sound with the I-4......Who knows once additional colors are offered but I would probably lean towards white with similar config.

Yellow has the least 'character' in person... it just felt flat (because of no flakes) and yet looks amazing on the car. This was my #2 choice color before seeing the disks in person. Now... I think it has to go back on the list, no? The yellow/black is such a classic color combo. Can't wait to see the rest of the colors.

Isn't that the plate plinth? The blue car seems to have what looks to be a plate there.

I assume if they plan on using parts from the Volvo bin, the ADAS would be something near the rearview mirror mount like this (hopefully much smaller):

This can sort of be inferred from the configurator views:

Ever think we got the 1st demo car, and China got the next one, albeit in a different color. Just like the blue one floating around....Sheesh so much bullshit and conspiracy idiocy. some of the newbs are fn idiots.

Lol it's been an interesting ride so far, hasn't it.

It looks like the running gray car was a prototype demo as opposed to a production demo, which is what we seem to be seeing showing up in China right now. Both the Seneca and Hethel cars in China look to be i4 models, but I can't tell if they run or not. My guess is they probably do since they both look like they sit at the correct height, which means they don't have the heavy batteries in them like the original Seneca studio model without the engine we've seen. That was necessary to be able to move the car.

They're probably in the early production testing and validation phase but it looks like things are moving along. If they deliver on showing cars in all the colors next month, that will be a good sign.

Oooooh. If Lotus do NOT show us all the cars, in all the colors, in January, then they will get a crap load of anger aimed at them. Also, if they do show us the cars but then do not allow us to change color without being shoved down the queue then what is the point. Grr.
