How remove battery in a GT?

I don’t really need to remove it, I’m just adding a battery tender pig tail. However, the cables nut is so damn tight and in such a position that I can’t use a wrench. Thus, I removed the plate that holds the battery in place so I could slide t out and get a socket on it, but the battery doesn’t budge. I just need to slide the dang thing out, remove the nut in the positive cables, add the pig tail, tighten the nut. Do the same on the negative side, slide it back in, and reinstall the plate holding it secure. But being a Lotus, it can’t be that easy. Any tips for getting this battery out? It’s an interstate. Thanks!
