These cars are so much fun to mod. Everyone has a different take on the rear end.

Post up your Elise or Exige rear end pics and specs!

Here is mine as it currently sits:

What a fun thread, there was a similar post on one of the facebook groups a couple days ago.

Here’s my take on an oem+ rear end:
-HKFever AOA CF Wing
-GRP V4 tails
-Difflow 5-element rounded with same weather stripping as the oem diffuser
-stock stage 2 exhaust
-blacked out exhaust heat shielding

Nicely done! I like the look of the '06 / early '07 rear panel. Looks more finished than a naked rear, but my teenage boys want me to keep the naked race car look.

Good idea to black out the heat shielding (and license plate letters - haha - photo radar can't get you).

Kind of wish I had bought that wing when he was selling them...

Former LT member 'LotusMotion' had posted these pics many years ago. With and without the rear panel. That post was why I kept my rear panel for the first 10+ years of ownership. Just looks more finished. For now I'm saving weight and looking racy though...

Depending on the day of the week I still tempted to go full race car mode some days, haha

I missed out when HKFever sold those wings as well, just got lucky and found a local Lotus owner that had one stored away and convinced him to sell to me once he moved on from his Exige. Would still love a Benetec wing though…just can’t swallow paying $4k for a wing
Don't get me excited:

I intensely considered purchasing the one from @Nietzsche early this year, but couldn't even justify $2.8k for a lightly used one. It sold fast though...

Also, what a difference a simple black license plate frame can make o_O

Wow, yes, the black license plate frame is a big contributor to the overall look of your rear end!

I'm actually thinking my car in post #1 would look a lot better with one. I'm going to look into finding the thinnest carbon fiber plate from there is. No more than 1 ounce.

What brand of rear panel delete is on your car? It looks great!
I mentioned in the first post that it is a Blackwatch racing license plate delete. I don't blame you for not reading though. That is why I made this thread. I just like looking at pics! :ROFLMAO::p

So the Blackwatch plate delete has a couple of drawback compared to say the S111 plate delete. First it is much heavier. Second, the plate is in the same vertical position but pushed further towards the front of the car making it harder to see from higher up. The S111 version, I believe, moves the plate down at bit to compensate.

I lightened my Blackwatch part by drilling holes and using an angle grinder. You can't see any of the work when it is installed with a plate.

Also a couple of other things that cleaned up the rear:

Mini LED's on the license plate:

Cut off end of rear panel brackets:

That's a cool car and nice plate.

I'm worried about your rear clam getting damaged if you ever have to use that tow hook. Maybe there is something I can't see in there but it looks like it would bend up into the BOE rear panel delete which would then get into your clam.

I'm noticing the rear tow hook is a popular mod in this thread. I don't know if I can handle the 2.3 pounds but they sure do look racy cool. Has anyone ever had a flat bed tow truck pull their car up backwards with one?

Front view
Sorry, have to go off topic for a sec.

I heard you have a light car. Why are these 2 useless pieces of steel still up at the highest spot?

BTW, don't blame me if you break your windshield taking them out. They simply just unscrew with an 8mm socket + finishing nail jammed in there, but there is of course a ton of loctite on the threads.

Okay, back to rear ends...

Interesting aero,I like the open wheels.Nice diffuser but not sure how the part with exhaust works.Need a view from an angle to see what they have done.
The open rear wheels actually make sense. We have a 'parachute' behind each tire there.

Here is another example from Japan to let air out of that spot.

I am about 95% certain they are these. They look great! (google translate the website)

~$2500 a set before shipping. 13lb front 16x7.5 and 15.3lb rear 17x8.5
That is 100% correct. I've been eyeing those wheels a long time. They are wide, but there are so many people in Japan running them. I also love that the spoke goes almost to the edge of the rim. If you look closely, they could be even better if they were solid all the way to the end.

The BSK store has quite a few items I want!

What brand/model of rear diffuser is that?
Difflow rounded 3 element from 2010. They don't offer this style now, but I remember they used to be able to do semi custom stuff. Mine seems to hang slightly lower than the new ones too. The bottoms of my strakes are 80mm from the ground, but my ride height is a bit lower than stock too.

Okay, I showed you mine, now show me yours!

Switched my license plate design again. Matches the orange car and gold in my engine bay (and my son is a firefighter), but I think I prefer my last plate. I'll change again next year...

Its the Inokinetic Carbon Rear Diffuser
@Crazy05
Mine is actually an early Difflow design from 2010 (their first year in business). It comes down lower than their newer stuff and will sometimes scrape on speedbumps, but I love it.

Inokinetic sells the Reverie CF diffuser that is also pretty cool, but much different in design. It is also the only wind tunnel tested diffuser I know of.
