I noticed the PPF looking like it had scratches in it. Took it to one of the best shops around for a redo. It wasn’t fun getting the old off they said and had to charge me by the hour. Little pieces and a plastic razor blade, 4 days later it was completed.
If you still have original PPF, you better act. Mine sits in a climate controlled garage for 11 years when not driven
I’m told the average lifespan of PPF is only 10 years no matter what brand.
Well now I have full Xpel coverage and it looks amazing

Many of the shops in VB won't touch PPF anymore I guess there was damage and lawsuit along the way. The highest priced shop quoted me 1100 to start plus any additional time over what it normally takes them. All with no paint guarantee.

Starshield has a five year warranty and should be replaced then to avoid what you encountered.

I had PPF on my 2015 Macon and took it off myself this year. Just a lot of patience, a tea kettle, towels, and some finger strength. There's a ton of YouTube videos on it. Watch the ones that use hot water to soften the film and there is a technique to get the film off without damage. I did mine over several days; just did one panel at a time... It's crazy what shops charge to take that stuff off.
