Many adjustable mirrors just click with light pressure into place.

 

Just pull back the plastic collar where it attaches to the car. You should see an allen bolt facing roughly toward the sky. Loosen the bolt, and you've got 360 degrees of adjustment!

Just tighten it back up wherever you want it. I'd start with the electric adjuster roughly in the middle so you can fine tune it afterward.

As far as in/out movement, each mirror has 3 positions that it will lock into: folded parallel with the door (all the way in), one click out, two clicks out. Your passenger mirror is probably just at click 2 rather than 1.

 

BE CAREFUL with the outside mirrors. Hopefully the metal support for the mirrors are not broken (a common issue with the Citroen-sourced mirrors). When you lift the plastic collar, check for cracks in the metal.

 

It's also possible the mirror isn't "popped" into place. The glass snaps into the actuators so maybe all you have to do is press it in till it clicks. See if it is loose.

No, please don't do this. The glass does not snap to anything. It's held in place by a plastic circle locking mechanism that must be rotated to free or lock all the tabs on the glass.

 

Is this the housing that's turned or the mirror that's facing down?

 

I've always found the Citroen mirrors to be one of the cooler parts bin additions on the Esprit, even with their annoyances...

 

I have moved both mirrors in and out and they are definitely in the detents. Did not want to push too hard on the glass as I am afraid of breaking something.

 

Move to the aforementioned Allen screws.
