Hi everyone. Am I correct that there were no changes in Elise colors from 06 to 07? I know a few colors changed from 05 to 06, and I am trying to understand the difference between the 05 Bordeaux Red and the 06/07 Canyon Red. Is there really any difference or did they just change the name? Based on the pictures I saw so far, they look the same.

Thanks!

They are different.

BRP looks more like a red wine, while Cayon Red looks like a ruby-red. Im pretty sure Cr has much more pearl in the clearcoat, too.

No, I think there is a different. BRP has a bit more of a purplish hue to it.

Here're some pictures of BRP:

Boardeaux can look brownish in certain lights. Canyon is more like tomato soup red. 2006/7 metallic and lifestyle paints use bigger flake. Only the lifestyle colors have the additional pearlcoat. Storm Ti is the only metallic that had big flake in 2005. It is very similar to 2006/7, but it is only slightly changed.

I've got a Canyon Red and a guy in my parking lot at work has a BR. Only got to see the 2 cars next to each other once before the winter set in. The differences are VERY subtle. There is no real way to tell the difference in pictures, the colors are just too close. If you are looking to pic up a used car, I'd put more weight into the quality of the specific car available and whether the 2006 features are meaningful to you.

canyon red has more magenta in it and is lighter. -- It looks like a lipstick color.
bordeaux is darker, like red wine. -- Brick reddish

Thanks for your help! I now got a chance to see both colors in person and the difference is quite visible! It is just hard to tell based on photos - especially based mixture indoor and outdoor photos!

in the pix BRP looks like Porsche Arena red like on the '96 turbo. Canyon Red , looks more "lotus", or (dare i say) Mitsubishi eclpise (96-98). that being said. i think both colors are absolutly stunning, and IMHO the sexiest colors offered for the Elise. <(i still want yellow, KG, or orange though ;) )
