I recently went through the “do it or didn’t it have it done” process on an 05 Elise. I used the Inquiries@lotuscars.com email and they passed me along to the US group. After a few days they replied that the car I inquired about did NOT have the oil line recall done. They were pretty helpful. On the website the car just listed what recalls the car was eligible for but not whether or not it had been done.

Looks like the MY06 Elise I'm planning to test drive next week was affected by the oil line connector issue. I'm curious if anyone has had issues with the dealer provided solution to this or if it fully rectified the problem. FWIW, I used the Lotus website to look up the recalls by VIN and it told me on the site that I could contact any Lotus dealer or Service Centre to determine if the repairs had been completed for my vehicle. That seems pretty standard across the auto industry.

The recall took care of the issue and if car hasn't been repaired it will still be able to have the warranty fix done.

So update on this, I called my tech to check a VIN on an Elise I'm interested in, they said they no longer see any recall info within the Lotus database...he explained that that doesn't mean its had its recalls done or that there are still open recalls, its just that Lotus has discontinued offering services on those recalls and deleted any information from their database meaning the 05+ elise oil line recalls are no longer covered even if you've never had it done. This makes sense because Lotus has simply dropped support for them as shown in the open campaign recalls page linked

Yeah they have now dropped all tech support for docs when you look at the new support page.

For what it's worth, Dave Simkin (Lotus's field operations manager aka lead tech at corporate) just told me the oil line recall on my '08 Exige will be covered by Lotus.
