Hey Gang,
I hope everyone is doing okay during these times...
I did a search on V8 exhausts and ran across something in a post that mentioned the factory exhaust is basically two straight pipes enclosed in the outer housing, would that be with or without internal mixing? I ask because I find the cold start running sound to be annoyingly loud, and when starting my '99 in the garage yesterday to recharge the air conditioner, it did sound very direct and open while I was behind the car. It quiets down a bit once the idle slows upon warmup, but it's still very loud even under light load when backing the car up into the garage. I would hate to be "that neighbor" and disturb everyone when leaving early for events or coming home late in the evening.
I've been looking at the twin separate loop-back exhausts from PUK and SJS and they look like the old Larini model from long ago. Are they in fact, the Larini model? Even some of the literature on PUK has similar wording in the descriptions. Has anyone had any experience with these types? I had a 2.5" loop-back on a supercharged 1.8L Integra GSR years ago and it was not loud around town until you really got on it, and it allowed very free breathing well past the modified 8500 RPM redline.
