$1,200.00

San Jose, California

I purchased a windshield from Inokinetic, to be shipped to and installed at Trackspec in Fremont, CA. This is the only new source I’m aware of for replacement. This is the source:

It’s a large item, very expensive to crate and ship alone- any interest in a group buy to spread out the shipping cost? If so, I can work to arrange.

The OEM windshields are available from every Lotus Dealer. I recently replaced mine. You avoid shipping by picking up from dealer. I just met the installer there and he picked up the windshield at Flow and installed on their property.

and on expensive windshields, people are getting dropped for making claims.....glass coverage isn't what it used to be

I just got dropped this week for making the 4th claim on our Subaru windshield in 4 years. We have some bad luck with rock chips, and that's not even an expensive windshield, it's completely mainstream.

I paid just over $1200 plus tax for windshield and used their windshield guy who's done their Lotus for 15+ years he charged $150. I saved $400+ by not shipping to me. I drove 3 hrs each way mostly for the experienced installer. Took him about 20 minutes.

Jon at TrackSpec gave me the contact info for his preferred windshield installer and he came to my place in Alameda to do it. Happy to share that info for those who are interested in a Bay Area installer.

For what it’s worth, I bought the windshield from Inokinetic on Black Friday and then combined pickup with a work trip down south. Driving back on the 5 with a windshield in the back protected by moving blankets and sleeping bags was nerve-wracking, but ultimately saved some dough. YMMV 😃

Btw, I should clarify that I'm not suggesting anyone bypass Jon at TrackSpec. Everything happened to line up with my trip and even picking up the windshield was seen as a rare occurence (Inokinetic usually ships direct to shops). Jon further understood that my car couldn't legally be driven to his shop for the install, so he was willing to help out with the contact info.
