FYI the KOMO-TEC 435 will only get you to 435HP on the GT, Sascha just confirmed this.. So not worth it for GT owners..

I would do the K-T tune just for improved throttle response alone to be honest. Plus, people are assuming that, based on the factory up claims, the GT actually has more power than a 400 and I have not seen anything confirming that such as dynos or someone confirming that the GT and 400 run different tune files. In my experience and with personal dyno proof, my 400 was underrated by the factory by at least 10hp anyway. Other have experience the same.

Dogtag - that is interesting about the stumble you are getting. Have not even remotely experienced that with mine so I wonder if its a peculiarity related the the IPS.

I have zero desire for more hp on mine. The best change is the K-T shorter final drive ratio. The OE gearing is way too long on these cars and with the shorter final drive ratio, the car is a beast yet still super comfortable at high speeds on the freeway.

The 2017 E400 I recently purchased was advertised with a 3rd cat delete and Komo-Tec 435 tune, although no documentation or anything else was provided about the tune. I reached out directly to Komo-Tec with my VIN number, and they did confirm that they sold a tune for it. But, they can’t say exactly what was loaded on the car, since it sounds like there were a few options. Would anyone who has the 435 software be able to share a copy of the instructions or other documentation? Also, is there any way to plug into the car to “read” what was installed?
Thanks!

The PO didn't include the tune down files and cable with the sale?

I bought the car from a huge Chevy dealer in Houston - someone traded it in on a new Corvette. The dealer has been less than useful, as you might expect. I asked that they give my contact info to the previous owner so I could get details about the car, but if they did there has been no response. Same request to Komo-Tec.

Tunes are typically sold to a person, not to a VIN as far as the Tuner is concerned so don’t expect Komotec to support you though they likely have your baseline file that was emailed to them originally.

Your dealer may be able to tell when the last ECU file was loaded. You will have to tell them eventually or risk them flashing in an update and wiping out the tune if it’s there.

Note: a TCU update is a completely different load if you ever need to do that.

Does anyone have any experience with this tune/upgrade??
Quite a few people run this on the Exige and I’ve seen a decent number of slightly older Evora with it. You’re aware that includes headers right?

It’s not the worst install but it’s a little effort. I may actually do this.

I would contact Sascha at KT and ask if they can supply you with the files (there should be three, stock, 91 octane and 93) and a cable. It might cost you a few bucks but they should have your records on file. It should not cost the full amount the first owner originally paid for the tune since KT does not have to actually develop it. They could simply forward the already existing files with you.

There may be some reason they won't or can't do this for you, but it would be a good thing to have the files both for yourself and future owners.

As long as it doesn't change the beautiful tune the car already makes I wouldn't mind. I wonder how much louder and/or different it makes it sound.. That's one of my concerns. Also, if it's actually safe and the HP gains are accurate on the GT.

Sascha is the person that has responded to my inquiries at KT. He didn’t know what was loaded onto the car, and let me know that there was a 91 or 93 octane option. I will reach out for more info - it sounds as though when purchasing this tune you first provide some data from the specific car? I still need at least a set of installation procedures/instructions, which Sascha may be able to provide.
Thanks,
Mike F

Has anyone had the EV4-475 upgrade done yet? Really considering now that I don't have a powertrain warranty. Wish there was more info on it or members that have experience and reviews on it!

I’m looking into it. Komotec requested my ecu and software ID, which I’m actually just about to head into my dealer to get. Once I have that, I’m going to bring a few more questions to KT: specifically, whether the tune can accommodate BOE headers and the GRP intake (the latter of which I already have installed).

Also, highly considering the Capristo exhaust. I’ll definitely do the community the favor of dumping as much info as I can on all this, because currently, the info is depressingly sparse.

Let us know what they say please! I have the GPR intake as well. And you're right, there's little to no info anywhere on this from anyone :(
