Hello,

I hope ya'll can help. I have a 2005 Elise with about 7k miles on it.

Recently, it started becoming difficult to put into gear from a stop. However, this is an intermittent issue, not something that happens all the time.

I already bled/flushed the brake fluid in both the brake lines as well as under the car at the clutch, and even with the new fluid it is still doing the same thing. In addition, it doesn't appear that the clutch is slipping and clutch pedal feel is normal. Just hard to get it into gears from a stop.

Its at the dealer now. He rebled the clutch again, and checked all linkage/cables.....all ok, yet still doing the same thing.......

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/info before I have them pull the trans to check inside????

If there was an air bubble in the clutch line, it could cause issues. So, that was an easy thing to check first. Plus, it was time to flush the brake fluid again anyways.

I will have them check the tranmission fluid level. That's a good, easy thing to check.

Perhaps I have the pressure plate ring/clip failure issue??

This may not be the same thing but all 3 manual cars I have owned have intermittent problems of getting into reverse. It just gets stiff sometimes. All I do is bring it back to neutral, left the clutch go and then do it again and it usually goes. I never thought anything of it. But again, this may be different than your problem.
