Obscure fault code - P23C1

Hi all,

Using a generic scanner I have found fault code P23C1 in the engine ECU.
I have checked the docs for the car and there is a huge list of faults including P2xxx but not this one.
Can anyone advise what this is exactly?

2016 Exige V6 S

Thanks for any help

That is an odd code. What is the issue you're having with the car?

Nothing apparent at the moment, but the spanner shows for quite a while when starting the car, eventually goes away.

The rear heated screen fuse was blown, but doubt the ECU is wired to that.

Otherwise, previously the immobiliser/alarm was very upset, fixed either by opening and closing the front panel or by switching the interior light to the courtesy position.
The switch on the light is not great, it was flickering when I moved it to the courtesy position at first, maybe a poor connection, I did open it and it looks fine, working normally now.

Oh edit to say I did find the code online listed as a possible Nox sensor issue, so not sure if that is badly worded and it might just be an O2/lambda sensor issue or not.

I would have the battery load tested and then meter your ground from battery- >bulkhead>engine alternatively you could make sure engine's been off ten minutes disconnect battery leads wait another ten minutes and then short +&- cables together for a soft reset. Reconnect and see if you still have the issue. If you still have it have it load tested.
Lotus are extremely sensitive to battery state and grounds and this is a weird fault code.

If it went dead have the battery load tested and grounds checked 9/10 this is the fix after dead battery. If battery checks good sometimes just the reconnecting of terminals will fix weird issues. GL and let us know.

I did just check just in case - no it isn't there.
The P23C1 code is definitely hex from the scanner, and the car docs look like normal hex ones too, and the listed faults in the docs make sense with the standards e.g. Px3xx codes are all for ignition system.
Are you saying you think the car docs have them as decimal?
