Folks, my wife doesn't like the minimally padded seat. Thus she's hard to get into the car for rides. This weekend was perfect weather, and she wouldn't go. So, anyone use the Sector 111 seat pads? Do they fit stock seats. Any other help?

Help! I want to get that beautiful blonde in my passenger seat...

Any Alternatives?

Anyone know of any way to make the seat more cushy without making it permanent?

My wife hates all the seats in every car I've owned, this one the most, however. What are your experiences with women and the seats?

I think it's either time to get new seats or a new wife. What year is your Elise? If its a 2005, you should look into getting the ProBax retrofit.

I just received a CF seat for the driver's side and a Sector111 perf. Leather seat pad to use with it on the street.

Anyway, this morning I tried it in the stock passenger....

The pad is 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch tall and hangs off the seat on the bottom edge (this doesn't seem to be an issue). there is a built in lumbar cushion (non-adjustable). You sit higher, but it is most noticably softer and since you are higher there is more room in the hip area. This also means you can slide/move around more... It all depends on what someone likes.

You might want to have her sit in a '06 model with the cushy seats.

I was getting my car serviced yesterday and one of the car on the showroom had a cushion, with the Lotus badge enbroidered on it. It was hanging on the back with a strap. Definintely not a permanent change. May want to check into that.

problem solved

I just got back a few weeks ago from a 1700 mile drive. My solution to the long journey in a little sports car....a pillow. Not one of those big fluffy ones you sleep on, im talking about the one youve had for uyears thats all flat and needs to be thrown out. Put one of those under your butt and you can drive for hours, I did it 12 hours straight one day stopping only for gas..=]\Chris

I have a "bright blue" Reverie seat pad set I should sell (I'll never use it!)... Joe or anyone ? They have velcro stick-ons and they add about .75 in of padding to the critical areas...
Look to the pic for some idea. The color is slightly wrong and the material looks funny in the photo -- it's a bright-ish blue (a bit darker and less "teal" than the photo suggests) ... ? (this photo is off of Reverie UKs website since I don't have a digital camera...)

If you don't want something well, very unique, then you might look to one of the other suggestions...
Cheers

I have driven my S1 from Northern Wisconsin to Buffalo, New York and to St Louis, MO and my S2 to Key West. I'm 6'2" and have a skinny butt so those seats get hard on long trips. My solution was to get a piece of 1" sorbothane closed cell orthopedic padding from the local prosthetist (maker of prosthetic limbs and orthopedic devices) and sew up a cover from light leather and sheepskin ( a friend is the publisher of The Leather Crafter and Saddler's Journal). The pad drops into the center of the seat bottom. Had cruise control installed on both cars and a twelve hour stint behind the wheel is no problem at all, only trouble is my wife likes it so much she keeps filching it....Dave

I know someone around here had the seats re-cushioned. He paid about $600 to someone who specialized in leather work, and they took the seats out, got rid of the stock center leather padding thing. Matched the leather, added padding, and rebuilt all the leather to match. It looks stock, great and has the extra padding.
