SJ Sport 300 Seats, bolt to floor

I’ve been reading up on SJ’s Sport 300 replica seats and forum members have mentioned that these can be bolted directly to the floor for additional headroom/legroom.

Has anyone done this? Pics?

And if this has been done, did you need custom mounting brackets to address the seat angle?

Thank you for everyone’s help!

I was really interested in these seats - I am 6'4". I think you saw my thread on tall man mods. I was nervous I would not fit so did not want to pay the shipping. They are cool and Lotus Sport! I never found any body stateside with a set. Will be watching to see what you come up with.

I went through several versions of seats and brackets.
I'm 5'9" so no issues with head room or steering wheel clearance.
The car came to me with some cheap vinyl buckets. They were mounted to the runners so I'm imagining about the same height as original.
Replaced them with Ronan leather that were very comfortable but I mounted them to the foor as they were very soft and heavily padded.
Now I have Invictus glass buckets. Very similar to the 300 seats. They came with heavy steel brackets so took them off and made aluminum mounts again directly on the floor.
I had at least four inches head room if not more.
So much so that the hood moddification that covers the wiper blade cut my field of vision. I added the original runners and some spacers to add 1 1/2" more height.
So I've been through a whole lot of changes.
I think the 300 seats mounted to the floor would give you enough head room. Steering wheel and door jamb and parking brake probably may still give you problems.

Lotus Esprit V8 Sport Seats | eBay

Wow first time I have seen a set FS in the states. These claimed to not be reps. But the shot from the back kind of looks like the reps🤷‍♂️

If they were in Charlotte I would go sit in them but 6 hrs from me - too far to mess with.

Somebody in ATL buy them so I can test fit!!

Just looking at the seat mounts - they dont look like they are near as low as I have my seat mounted but they do look maybe 2" lower than stock - mostly because of the thinner padding.

I chatted with a guy at LOG who asked me if I was interested in buying the sport seats, so someone has them for sale. He described them as being the original optional sport seats for the V8, which sounds like it could be what you are looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name or contact information, but maybe someone will know. He had the racy black Corvette in the upper parking lot.
