The graphics can easily be removed with your fingernail and just peeling - they don't take much. The guy who bought the red 260 in Greenville SC (which is already for sale) took off the graphics from the door by himself.
But you are right, the decals above the front splitter and the mustache on the rear will require the star shield to be removed.
When or if that happens - the star shield really needs to be replaced - and even then, to maintain the star shield warranty, it needs to be Lotus branded star shield (with the watermark logo) otherwise you will not have the warranty. I had some places tell me they could heat it up, peel off the graphics and then reglue the original star shield back on. I checked around, and I don't know what they are thinking given the size of the area that needs to be peeled back, but that would not be good over the long term. Eventual removal would be an even bigger problem.
I have even heard some stories where large areas of paint came off when the star shield was removed - I understand that may not be normal or typical - but there are more than a few postings of that on here - and CO is not easy to match.
I decided to live with the graphics - I am not a big fan of them - but that is how it came. I am trying to convince myself it is like removing the stripes off a classic Cuda, Camaro, or other collectible car with crazy graphics.
