It should be the same EA60 that's currently used in the Evoras. Only used with Toyota diesel vehicles outside of the US. Some of the early close-ratio gearboxes had issues where some of the gears would spin free from the shafts. Lotus improved on it in later versions.

I tried to complete a reservation on the Hethel website repeatedly with no success, doesn't seem to like my cc? It's more symbolic to do it directly but I will contact a local dealer tomorrow, Boardwalk Lotus in Redwood Shores, CA. Has anyone in the US been able to accomplish what I've been struggling with and if so, any hints?
I didn't know you could reserve directly on Lotus' website with a CC, so I'd be wary of that. Many of the Lotus dealers around the US are taking pre-order deposits; some are fully refundable, some aren't, so do your research. Boardwalk is my closest dealer, but I chose to reserve with Gator Motorsport in Indiana since they're quite active in this community, and have stated they will not add any dealer mark-ups and sell at MSRP, whatever that might end up being.

Yes, and the material can become matted over time if it’s not maintained with a high level of care. I’d never option it, although it feels great when it’s new.

I understand that alcantara steering wheels were originally intended to be used with racing gloves for better grip on the wheel in a race environment.

I've seen discussion saying alcantara steering wheels are a bad idea since hand oils are what cause wear and it to break down, but alcantara seats are okay since it's usually just clothes on the surface. At worst you should be able to brush the seats. I can't recall exactly where I saw that, but it was likely a Porsche forum. Checking some pictures of older cars with alcantara seats can be useful too.

Can't be represented in the spreadsheet but obviously there's a difference in audience between actual reservations and forum reservations. Got a peak at the reservation list at a dealer in the US, between V6 and i4 was a 60/40 split. Zero V6 auto reservations and a sample size of 25.

That makes a lot of sense. I imagine a popular specification among the non forum people will be one of the grays paired with either the auto or DCT. So far there are no grey cars in our forum list, and few autos.
