Not having any luck via search on how to remove the Evora tweeters. Anyone done this before? Hoping its not a dash removal issue.

Yup I had seen this. Sadly this nor the previous are not giving me the answers I need, e.g., are they glued in the same way the GT/400 are, where is the wire run, etc. But I really appreciate you looking. 🙏

Seems like @brgelise has had some experience with this, so hoping he sees it. Old thread, I know.

I've asked Justin who did have his dash out if oem tweeters were glued in and just waiting to hear back

Thanks! I was about to watch one of these to see how he did the keyless entry/start.

Hey Richard, yes I removed the stock tweeters when the dash was out. They were pressed in, but easy to remove. However, the wiring for the tweeters pass through the HVAC duct and have pesky sealant as a result - that was the only minor issue.

So glad to hear the tweeters themselves aren't glued in, but if anyone knows if there is any slack after removal, or if it's hard to dislodge wiring, that would be great. Not planning on taking the dash out.

Wife's 2013 had 2 tweeters. 1 in dash and 2nd one in A Pillar. Just take a thin plastic removal tool and slip out. My dash drivers one was not wired but 2 tweeters was overkill so I left it off. Actually balnced nicely for driver now. This goes back several years since I played with it but very easy. Cars like Evora, IMHO are a waste of money to enhance sound in. Both the stock Pioneer and Alpine units were plenty good for the vehicle IMHO, unless something died.

And yes, might as well put the audiophile monikor on me too consider one stereo is based on MacIntosh, Marantz and Golden Ear Triton 1Rs, and the other stereo is a bit more vintage with Marantz, Carver (M200t biamped twins) and Polk LSi stuff....with a PMC center channel and Def Tech sub.

Amazing how much sound you can get out of many stock units with some EQ adjustments that don't push the gain thus allowing the amps some headroom.

Thank you. I'm replacing due to water damage and insurance is covering a new system as the higher-spec Alpine speaker the '13 with woofer came with is no longer available.

So, going with the Focal flax and replacing the tweeters since they come with the set. We're just wondering if we are going to be confronted with a lack of slack once were pop the tweeters out.

Yes, it includes crossover, but when I installed the ILX-507 I also put new amps and a crossover in. The only things that weren't touched really were the tweeters. Not sure what we're going to do with the speaker wires. If there's not enough slack and the wires are indeed glued in, we may just run new tweeter wires. I'm hoping the slack is there.

I used long thin zip ties to fish my way thru the dash since car was hot (battery in) to fish messenger lines up where I needed wires and across the dash where I had run messengers also. That way I could pull wire at will. It took a bit and I had to break out borescope when I hit large obstructions behind the dash.
I upgraded to 507 as well but went with JL Audio C3-525 for doors and dash speakers with crossover
JL Audio RD400/4 in factory amp location with sub moved slightly forward JL Audio 8W1v3-4. RCA to head unit and upgraded wiring from amp to each crossover across base of rear seat.

I was able to just pop out tweeters and cleaned up and slightly enlarged opening for the new tweeters.
