This is my Elise track project, still road registered and road driven but most of its life is on the track.

It started life as a fairly clean 1zz powered/5 speed car. It now has a built 2zz and 6 speed. (NOW K20)
it now has a pretty large mod list, with the main focus being driving experience and upskilling my own driving ability.

mod list as follows (i think this is it)

Suspension and brakes
palatov uprights
spherical bushings in all arms (arms zinc plated)
46mm nitron ntr 1 way with 700/850 springs
ssc toe link kit
elise parts bump steer adjustable steering arms
icon forged 16/17" forged wheels (16x7 +25 and 17x8 +35)
custom made chassis to crossmember brace
elise parts 1" front sway bar
2 pot front calipers with dba 5000 rotors on the front and rear with CL RC6 pads
SSC enlarged brake master cylinder

engine and gearbox
rebuilt fn2 civic gearbox (5:0 final drive) with dc5 6th gear and cusco 1.5 way lsd
ssc shift cables
dolomiti shifter assembly
JDM K20A engine
TODA spec C cams and uprated valve springs
TODA sump with extra drop in baffle
ported and shimmed oil pump
TODA timing chain and tensioner
DTR 4-2-1 headers with Boe ST muffler
68mm DBW throttle body
RRC inlet manifold
3.25" intake tube with ITG airbox
ssc return catch can
custom 4-2-1 headers with boe silent touch muffler.
1000cc injectors with radium fuel rail and reg
LINK G4x fury ecu with flex fuel and all of the sensors
radium header tank
ssc radiator with top mount pro alloy spal fans
laminova engine oil cooler

interior
genuine exige 410 carbon seats
schroth 4 point harness
carbon dash inserts
flocked genuine dash
aim mxp 1.3 dash with aim 4 button can pad
micromirror

exterior
carbon side vents
ssc rear panel delete
diffuseco rear diffuser
carbon hardtop (have soft top still) painted body colour
BOE rear tow hook
Kepla rear duck tail spoiler

I'm still still working on header tuning and some extra ecu tuning to fine tune the power and torque

This is how the car looked when i purchased it, had team dynamics wheels, the radiator and toe kit, otherwise it was stock but very clean

Really? So in the UK they did not have 2ZZ from the factory? Did the UK have multiple engine options in 2007?

Very nice and welcome to LT!

Love seeing laps from that track!

Could you share a link to the wheels you have? I couldn’t find them online.

They look a lot like the Elise Cup R forged.

a few pics of the engine build

i went through it from top to bottom with most parts replaced

had a heap of parts vapor blasted also which came up very well.

Also cut open and ported the inlet manifold and fitted an adaptor to run a 70mm toyota kluger 2gr throttle body

pistons and rods, very sexy and very good weight saving

also fitted a ichihara johnson crank scraper and baffle and checked the pick up height to the bottom of the sump, ended up adding a 3mm spacer tp space it down

finished project, I also had all bolts re coated

thanks

for the last 2.5 years i have been running 44mm front and rear with carbone lorraine rc6 pads front and rear.
just recently i fitted 41mm to the rear and retained the 44mm fronts, still with the same pads

it is only a very small difference in balance on the track imo

Help with the 5deg rake that the geometry runs best at. Some will run a square setup as well.

I have been chasing a brake issue for some time now, I had a very inconsistent brake pedal and very random abs behavior

Every time i entered a braking zone and hit the brakes the pedal would react a different way, from rock hard to spongey too wooden.

I decided to replace the brake master cylinder with a big bore SSC unit and replaced the abs modulator with a used unit, after being bled up by lotus and cycled correctly i have brakes back again.

tested yesterday at Winton with much success, its so nice to have a good pedal again after 6 months of working around it.

Glad to hear the good news!

What’s the advantage of a big bore master brake cylinder?

Its been a long time since i have had the car out, new track in south Australia called the bend.
i drove two layouts, the longer one being the second longest permanent circuit in the world

car is going well but very loose at high speed.

GT layout - long

international layout
