I'm in the market - shopping hard for an Evora 400, and have a few coals in the fire - so to speak. (Maybe I shouldn't make fire jokes around Lotus... see my sig)

Congrats on the NSX and 400 flip.

As someone that sold cars for a year, I never understood "trading it in." Especially on enthusiast cars. Meet someone in the middle. I'd give you more than a dealer, and be thrilled to be under market.

Just saying.

So, my two points

1- Enjoy the NSX, I chased one at Laguna in my Exige and it was an AWESOME car.
2- Someone sell me their 400! (6sp, 2+2)

NSX is one heck of a car. Really impressive by any metric. I drove the North East demo car and it left quite a positive impression on me. Wish it had more storage space.

Congrats! The Evora crowd and the NSX crowd tend to be of the same mind/spirit. After you get your NC1 NSX let us know how it drives in comparison. I'm sure that info will help a lot of others to consider it.
I definitely will. Another update, and seemingly opposing the entire point of unloading the Evora (to make room for the NSX)...I picked up a 21 GR Supra 3.0 on Saturday kind of spur of the moment.

Impression so far is pretty good. Fit and finish is really good at the price point (which makes sense, since it's a BMW in Toyota clothing). Seat of the pants dyno says it's solidly faster in a straight line than the Evora.

However, this is a GT car. My Dad had an MKIV Supra when I was a kid and I'm not sure the MKV has anything to do with the heritage of that car.

I can appreciate the pros and cons of different types of cars, and in a weird way, the Evora makes me appreciate the GT-ness (yep, made that up!) of the Supra. And the Supra DEFINITELY makes me appreciate the handling and nimbleness of the Evora (because in the twisties the Supra feels like you're piloting a rock compared to the Evora...or probably any Lotus ever built!).

Edit: I just noticed I posted about sending the Evora off 5 days ago and that I "wouldn't have a play car for another couple of months." Boy sometimes I really suck at life, ha!

Thank you Sir! I like to think what happened with my Evora was the best of both worlds. I think my buyer got a great deal, and I was able to get a dealer to do the courtesy trade so I got the sales tax credit anyway. Very lucky on my part!

Also...Someone get this man an Evora 400!!!! :)

You guys are very lucky in the USA.......in respect with MSRP's

Evora prices in the Netherlands are extremely high due to a very heavy (accumulating) environmental taxation of cars with higher than minimal CO2 emissions........socalled BPM

Below you find the MSRPs in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe for a new Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 6MT.
Prices are in € (Euro).........€ 1 = $ 1,19
The Mustang will cost $ 132.000,
-..............in Germany only $ 55.900,-

57% of the total MSRP consists of BPM charge...

Buying a new car somewhere in Europe and importing in the Netherlands is pointless.....they will be charged with these BPM taxes and end up with the same investment.
Only 2nd hand cars, a couple of years old. are exposed to a lower CO2 tax rate.

The MSRP of a new Evora GT 410 Sport IPS is € 157.033,- equivalent $ 186.869,-

"Trading in" in states like mine that deduct value of trade in on sales tax can make sense. Like I recently traded in my 488 for a Lamborghini Evo, the $225k I got was like getting $239k in a private sale. I'm thinking I might put my 2018 400 up for sale soon, is red, 6 speed and 2+2 with 7,300 miles. Where are you located? I'm in MA.

That sales tax deduction is a pretty good incentive once you start getting up there. Are you thinking of getting a GT, or moving away from Lotus? Either way, I demand that sail panel before you sell! Yes, I have no shame, I'm a parts vulture. If you do sell I hope the new owner posts plenty of pictures, she's beautiful!

She's gorgeous. I'm in CA - but I've shipped or driven car purchases before, that doesn't scare me. I'll PM you, let's discuss.

I've done the same. so, no shame - but let me see if I can buy it. You can scavenge if that falls through :)

I drove the car a good amount of time the first year but then last season bought a new 488, so that car had the new feeling and got driven more. Now just picked up Huracan Evo and it seems that car is getting most of my driving time. But main reason I'm thinking of selling is I lost it's winter parking spot at my brothers garage after he just added a car. Car has been serviced twice since I bought at my local Lotus Dealership. For mods I did Komotec tune, GRP decat and cold air intake, Larini exhaust, all installed at dealership. For exterior mods BC Forged wheels with wheel studs, GRP splitter, diffuser, carbon fiber barge boards along with carbon fiber mirror housing carbon fiber A pillars and carbon fiber side vent scoops and GRP tail lights From HethelSport I got Carbon Fiber radiator cover and Technocraft carbon fiber sail panel. Front end and all carbon fiber parts are covered with Expel and car is ceramic coated. Windows have 35% ceramic tint along with Exoshield windshield PPF.. For interior mods all from GRP carbon fiber steering wheel along with CF face cover, radio bezel, vent covers, switch cover, door handles, window switches, ebrake trim, cup holder, and door sills.

I'm going to sit down and go over what I put in to it to come up with a price. Car really is fun so will probably drive some more and then decide on a time frame

Yes I was talking to my wife who was trying to convince me to move to the NL or Germany due to the political climate here. As a car enthusiast it is a total loss. Higher taxes, higher gas prices, less room to drive and lots of speed cameras everywhere. The one benefit is low insurance cost and you get to import one car tax-free. However, talking to enthusiasts in NL it seems like nobody can even afford cars and everyone just gets a company lease.

We are very blessed in the US to have lots of car options which are cheap. The key is to enjoy them while they last. Everyone I talk to in my generation says EVs will take over but as long as there are gas stations I will probably have at least 1 manual car. :)
