I'd be curious to hear the details if anyone called and would like to share. Specifications and pricing? Are they honoring the original MSRP, new revised MSRP, or are they playing the markup game?
I'd call but I figure there is about a 0% chance it will meet my desired spec, so I don't want to waste their time.

This will be a big test of market pricing. It certainly won't be discounted.

So I just called.
They currently have 1 available based on a customer yesterday backing out.

It is a FE 2.0, Manual V6, Dark Verdant w/ Tan interior, sport suspension, asking 10k over FE 2.0 MSRP

I asked for clarification whether it was a 2.0, or if they were just pricing it on the 2.0 MSRP. He was clear in that it was a 2.0 and that there are a mix of 1.0 and 2.0 "on the boat" for the first batch of deliveries to the US.

Please explain the difference between FE 1.0 and FE 2.0.

Thanks!

Unreal. Don't give those guys a dime over msrp. Just silly.

Will be curious how many of those start popping up but I am sure some of the shills will pay it.
Not disagreeing or agreeing with this but I think there is something of value to a lot of people to be one of the first to have something new. Take that MSRP for example. Those of us very early depositors (two and half years ago for me) that have been hit with the early MSRP increase of $10k and still keeping their orders are not very different than someone paying $10k over now to get one ASAP.

It cracks me up that anyone would pay over MSRP. Let's be real. We all know there are dozens of people that have already walked away just based on the wait and that was further aggravated when they raised the MSRP for some. The reality? Whenever cars finally arrive (TBD!), even more people will likely walk away, if they can't right a check (no more cheap/free money). So some cars, as has been Lotus' history, will sit and people will eventually buy at a discount.

BTW, this is coming from a guy who bought a brand new 2011 lotus Evora, loaded in 2012 at essentially the dealer's cost because it sat for a year. I wasn't an exception.

It’s going to be interesting watching the market as the cars start being delivered to customers in the US, ostensibly in January. In Europe used Emiras with essentially demo miles are starting to show up for under 70k GBP.

I thought I saw originally that Lotus intended to fulfill all FE V6 orders in 2024, but now I can't find where I saw that. The most recent email from Gator indicated the first 500 are already on boats headed here (or have arrived, in some cases), but I doubt that'll be the entire allotment for the year.

I agree with the sentiment that it is crazy to pay 10K over MSRP. After the initial euphoria passes the car prices will drop and the used market will see a healthy supply in the USA. I absolutely love the style, (don't think there are any cars sexier in the price range) but Lotus has alot of headwinds in its future. 1) The price increase put it squarely in the same place as competitors offering more performance and higher quality. 2) Nothing has been done to significantly improve the dealer network. 3) Quality concerns are being raised by owners. 4) Delays are driving customers elsewhere

I'm still getting one. AMG version. But decided to wait for the first wave of beta-testers to help Lotus hammer out the numerous bugs. Absolutely would not pay 10K over MSRP.

^ The 2020 Evora GT started at $100k. That's almost $120k in 2024 money. The Emira FE...the loaded one...is already 15% less. But you think it should be cheaper? So where should the base Emira start, then?

"Old" 911 pricing is irrelevant; if you actually wanted to buy one the last couple years, you were paying over MSRP. If you want a Z06 today you are paying over MSRP. And a loaded M3/M4 is well over $100k.

The Emira may not be worth it to you, which is fine...but you need to be realistic about pricing.

I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, just that I understand the rational of others who are and personally do think it's changed a lot of their perspective and opinions on whether to buy or look elsewhere. I think most people even tend to be annoyed that the base price was adjusted and is even deviating farther due to some dealerships charging markups.

In all honestly, the price increase hasn't really dissuaded me, as I really like everything the Emira has to offer. A manual, mid-engine supercharged V6 with a gorgeous bodykit.

A lot of people are disillusioned about the financial state of affairs of many buyers in this country.

Tons in the USA with more money than time. Someone will wake up one day see this car for the first time and decide they/their wife wants it and pick up the phone. $10k over for one delivered today? They wont even bat an eye. Unsurprisingly those that have waited for 2.5 years post deposit (myself included) scoff at the idea of mark-up, but this is peanuts in the 6 figure car game. While I'm sure many people are stretching themselves into this car at 100k, the higher level buyers have been paying 20, 30, 40, 50, 100k+ over on cars in the 150-250 range for years without batting an eyelash.

If these dealers are asking a markup (looks like 10k over in this instance, Gator was 10+ over) it's because someone is paying it. If demand didn't exist to pay it they wouldn't be asking.

On the other hand there are many with money and no time...their biological clocks keep on ticking and time is getting shorter to enjoy life. These also are one's who might pluck down the extra and say YOLO sorry kids gonna have some fun with your inheritance. lol

We can’t forget that ICE sports cars have an end date for all manufacturers and the Emira is the last ICE they will produce. We don't have a lot of choices for a new mid-engine sports car with a manual gear box. This will keep enough demand till the end of Emira production. Depreciation will occur but at what rate will don’t know it all depends how many Emira’s are built.

They've said that the Emira is the last ICE car they'll build. That is not engraved in stone either.

Lotus, being a small manufacturer can extend, alter, or totally change product road maps easier than larger marques. If ICE model demand is there or the EV landscape has changed; Geely will respond in kind. Evolve the Emira chassis and an ICE model could be 20 years clear ahead.

You guys are rookies.
1. I bought my 2011S every option cept folding mirrors, list ~89515 for 60k new, 5/14
2. 2013 NA IPS 84K list, 45k 7/20...untitled, new
I fully expect to do this again with an Emira by 2025 or wait for the upgrade.

ICE aren’t going anywhere anytime soon...every single manufacturer has come to that realization and are changing direction. Electric future is coming but way slower than it looked just 6 months ago...Market pricing is interesting....it’s market not “dealer greed”....it’s simply a paradigm sift, the people who wanted to pay invoice when the market was MSRP now want to pay MSRP when the market is up money. Lotus has always ( ok usually ) had a pricing / inventory issue with cars sitting for many years. Hell we had new Aston Martins in stock for many years....we had I think the only V8 in the states in stock from the 70’s to the late 80’s
It’s the market folks.....enjoy!

~385 day inventory of MachE as of December folks. And the subsidy hasn't ended yet! Gonna pick these up for a song next year. Reality is kicking in and people's real world experiences are taking a toll on the otherwise smooth linear experience. Some folks have them and love them...awesome commuter cars.
But they aren't up to the long distance travel needs of America yet.

Indeed tempting to get one as a toy to learn from at the prices heading our way.
