You are right. The website doesn't list as one of the shops competing, but they are.

I was really interesting to see to shops square off against eachother in a creative competition. After the espisode I watched featuring two So Cal. shops, I would never send a car to one of the shops and the other shop was very impressive.

I definitely want to the episode with MWR. I think you can learn a lot about a shop and the abilities of the people that work there.

I've watched 2 episodes, the cars that split and the flying cars, and saw that MW will be on the show. I'm curious enough to watch as well. It's on the discovery channel on July 19 9pm, 11pm, and midnight. Probably eastern time. "Monkeywrench Racing and Voodoo Choppers turn two motorcycles into one four-wheeled vehicle with one purpose in mind - pull the longest wheelie they can down the mile runway at historic Grosse Ile Airport. The winner moves one step closer to the $100K."

K, that doesn't seem fair, Voodoo choppers has way more experience with motorcycles.

That's like saying "Monkeywrench Racing and Voodoo Choppers compete to see who can build the fastest 1/4 mile Celica."

Gimme a break. The episode I watched, flying firebirds, had both shops working well outside their comfort zone.

The guys from Hollywood Hot Rods ended up looking like real nimrods.

July 19th was SUPPOSED to be the airing night of the 5th episode of Heartland Thunder which featured my Elise in a segment - but they cancelled the show after the 2nd episode. It directly followed Ultimate Car Build Off. That would have been cool - two hours of Lotus related television... :(

After lobbying Discovery Channel is going to actually broadcast all 6 episodes... we just don't know when.

Just a quick FYI.

I have come to assume that every "reality" show is in fact manipulated and such to be more interesting for TV. Thats one of the reasons I just can't stand to watch them.....except for something like COPS or court shows. The beauty of these shows is because even when given free choice and not under the pretense that someone will watch, they still act like complete dumbasses. And that makes for good television.

David - first of all - your car looks fantastic!
Thanks for the kudos! Graphite looks awesome on HD. ;)

But the other guy (Tim Karrick?) who killed the engine at the start of his run and then later hit a cone looked frustrated.
Actually he hit the freakin' plastic milk carton that held the timing light inside. Small scratch to the Starshield that buffed right out - but it did scare the crap out of me. Thank God he was only going 30mph.

Thanks John - If you look closely you can see your old AreaP exhaust in there ;)

I just wish this aired right after the MWR program so we could have had a full Lotus night... oh well. :DV:
