Radium CAI Feedback German Highway

Finally (after all that ice and snow we had)I was able to test the Radium CAI on German Highway.

Fact 1: the Evora goes much better even at higher speed. The engine is closer to the pedal, turns wide = perfect.
Fact 2: really lesser consumption. If I compare the same road I did with the CAI, the consumption IS lesser than with the normal CAI.
Fact 3: I dont think that Radium sells a lot in Germany, because: it is too noisy!
All under 3000 RPM is ok, but driving quicker than 180 km/h results in a real heavy noise in the car. And the longer it takes, the nerving it is. I went to 240 km/h and it is the same. So: longdistance at highspeed is not funny.
Fact 4: but overtaking has still a soundeffect, switching even to 4th gear and go.

Summary: the CAI of Radium is fantastic... for countries with speedlimit.

I loved driving 160 + MPH in Germany

When I lived there for 3 and a half years, it was the most fun driving 160+ MPH my vehicle tap out at 168 mph due to the redline limiter but I would do 160 plus for 3 to 4 hours at a time and in Germany that was basically go anywhere there. That was when I was younger but still fun driving other vehicles out of my way like going 150 mph and only being 3 feet of their bumper because they were in the fast lane and it was not fast enough for me LOL. No speed limit roads is the most challenging road to drive, because at those speeds one mistake and you are going bye bye with you and your vehicle in many pieces. I love no speed limits, I wish they would have this system in the US but most drivers could not handle the speeds.

Compared to US standards? Yes. Is that teaching you how to drive fast / safe / sensible /... ? Big no!!!

Over 80mph many people do not have the reflexes to react and judge.

Our population is aging, and I'd like to add to that statistic.

Bu then the great American Philosopher Homer Simpson said: "If you decrease the speed limits some lives will be saved, but millions will be late!"

Amen Homer!

Better off dead than late! or is that "Better late than never"??

I had the pleasure on the Autobahn again last weekend. Once the road is clear and as long as the spouse isn't sitting on the pax-side my only limit is the redline - 278 KPH @ 6200 RPM. Though its always just for 3 minutes at a time, youre covering more than 3 kilometers every minute. Really cuts travel time (at least for distances within the fuel tank range).

I don't have the CAI, but I must admit noise could be an issue. I had a Porsche GT2 and it made driving over longer distances a real pain.

@XILR8N!: Remember, you wont necessarily get older with speed limits - it just seems that way because your getting bored.
