Scratch Removal Options other than Repaint?

What are the best scratch removal options other than a repaint? Body shop wants to repaint and I just can't bring myself to consider a complete rear clam repaint/re-Starshield for a trio of small (right/back/left) scratches. Would be interested in people's experience with decent products or services. Thanks.

Of the 3, it varies, but not light enough for me to simply buff out by hand. At least thru the clear coat, I think.

I picture would do wonders...it is impossible to suggest what to do without actually being able to assess the scratch.

It also can depend on the color.

There are ways to blend touch up paint (levelers, blob removers and air brushing) but those aren't always entirely invisible.

I have successfully minimized some scratches with some professional scratch/swirl removers available - but most weren't that bad to begin with. Some techniques actually scratch more to reduce the edge and blend - but that is not a good long term solution.

Good suggestions, and not something I want to try on my own. I think I'll locate a recommended high-end detailer to take a pass at them first. Just looking to minimize them at this point, and if need be, as said, I could always go to a re-shoot later. They look worse in the pics than on the car!

Generally, the rule is that if you can feel the scratch, it's too deep to polish out.

You generally want to use the most mild polish that will get the job done in order to preserve the clear coat. Sometimes it's not worth removing a scratch entirely because you will have to remove too much clear coat.

How did you get them removed Steve? I use Meguiars scratch X, but there are more abrasive ones available too.

Ara,

I had my detailer, Josh, do the job. He was very careful and made a significant reduction in them - you have to be right up on them to see anything at all, and it was not worth a clear coat repaint - not even close. People look at them and say, "are you kidding?" that's nothing. He now works here:
