Greetings from FL. I stopped into my local Jacksonville FL Lotus dealer and couldn't believe what I saw:

There were something like 10-11 total Lotus Emira on their lot, mostly in yellow and ligther blue (which both looked absolutely stunning to the point where I couldn't stop looking). Each one had a "sold" sign hanging from the rear view mirror. The sales woman said "we are waiting on paperwork for customer delivery". I thought that was unusual but I'm also not at all familiar with the Lotus buying process.

Separately, they did have a yellow demo that they allowed me to sit in. The car had something like 3xx miles but the sales rep said I couldn't start it because of something, again, related to "waiting on paperwork". No knock on the sales rep who was probably following higher orders but I thought it was unusual since she had the key in hand.

Anyway...WOW! What an amazing car to see in person. I am truly blown away. I hope to get one in the next year or two if I can. I could right now, but would make more sense for me financially to wait another 6-12 months. Good luck on all of your orders & deliveries, you've made a damn good choice

Welcome to LT! Read thru the Emira forum here and you'll see that they're all waiting on CARB Certification before they can be released to their patiently waiting owners.

Not entirely absurd. A lot depends on how much demand remains after the initial release dust settles. If the Emira has legs in the market then it’s unlikely unless you buy used. If the bloom fades, cars sitting at dealerships will be discounted significantly if history is a guide. Personally I hope that doesn’t happen and this car does better in the market than the disappointing initial release might auger. A percentage of Lotus dealers are small and unwilling or unable to maintain a fleet of unsold cars. I guess we will see soon enough.

I'm not sure which way I'd have it then haha, the Emira losing traction means my wallet may be saved. On the flip side, the Emira being hugely successful may mean I may not be able to order my own if Lotus doesn't plan to extend the ICE production beyond 2027.

Given the circumstances, I'd really like to hope that the Emira continues to sell so much so that Lotus extends ICE to 2030 and parts become vastly abundant. Seems extremely unlikely, but would be quite nice. At least I just hope that the next few years of production send many Emira's to the US so that we have a surplus.

$80k-$90k prob doable for an I4 Emira. I don't think it is possible for a V6 Emira with the current inflation and sport car auto market. The Evora special discount was possible pre-covid and that's 4 years ago. $90k doesn't worth as much as in 2020.

I fully expect the V2 to sell for V1 prices in a year. Look what they did to 2010 Evora Stickers in 2011 for example. America only cares about HP. Once the 1st in line purists or dreamers have their take, there will ALWAYS be plenty for the real buyers. And we will be the ones that put real miles on them, track them, etc. Name me a Lotus that hadn't followed this sales curve? Name me a Lotus that hasn't had that buyer ideology? I pd sticker for my 2005 Elise..a cancelled order....9yrs later......

Some news re my car / a data point: Ordered September about 2.5 years ago. Dealer (Boardwalk in California) told me this weekend that my car arrived in Baltimore (prior to the bridge collapse) and is being prepped to be trucked out west. It's an Osmium Silver, so "2nd batch", etc. (6 cyl, stick) They were able to give me my VIN. (am kinda intrigued by the Emira S badges I see leaked - I'd prefer less options and more zoom - hmm)

Well, looks like I'll be joining the club earlier than I expect. Boardwalk just offered me an orphaned FE 1.0 in the exact spec that I was going to use for my final V6 run order. They'll let me get out of my already spec'ed I4 (due March 25) and change my deposit for the Final V6 run to an I4 in 2028 so I said YES.

The Magma Red is totally underrated. The pictures on Lotus's website does not do it justice. It look more Burgundy indoor and in the shade but it gets more vibrant in sunlight.

Above is mine sitting indoor and below is the one I drove back in OCt 23.

When I 1st saw it, I thought it was some new color and not the Magma Red.

@Catsailr27 @WMBL Just curious if there is an Emira delivery tracker? I was going to create one, but didn't want to duplicate effort if one already exists.

I added my configuration (well the best I could remember, hehe). I was informed that I was in line to pick up my Emira by the end of 2024... getting close :)

I should have done this 6 months ago when we got it, but at any rate...from our dealer (Lotus of Western New York) to home...
