Yet Another Apple Carply / Android Auto Thread

I've read through the CarPlay threads on here and they don't really answer my question. I am looking for a single-din Carplay-capable head unit that sits in the OEM cutout. I am not interested in double din due to personal aesthetic taste. I am fine with the size of the screen being smaller.

The only three I have found are:
There is one by Porsche but that's not really an option because it goes for > $1000usd.

My issue with basically all of these linked is that frankly they seem like Chinese junk with questionable reviews and as a result I am concerned about durability, sound quality, longevity, etc.

I am surprised that Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Boss, Kenwood, etc don't have at least one offering that fits the bill...

Wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the above or recommendations?

Unfortunately, for Android Auto, the only options are the Chinese ones with alphabet soup names and questionable quality.

If you're okay with only Apple Carplay, the S2000 guys seem to be pretty happy with the Power Acoustik CP-71W available from Walmart. There are a few people on here that have that one installed and seem to be pretty satisfied with it as well. I assume it is basically one of those same Chinese units underneath, but at least it's from a brand that seems to have at least some kind of established presence in the US.

According to this thread on FerrariChat ( 430 - Fitting Porsche PCCM into f430 ), Blaupunkt had a teaser page for the "London 500" which was reportedly a single-din unit with both AA and Carplay compatibility, but it was taken down a few days later. The guy contacted them and was assured that it was still being worked on, but given that we're now ~3 months later and there's still be no news, the product is either dead or will not be releasing anytime soon.

I'm not sure if you read through the one that I tried but it's a no name radio that needed modification to make work but I'm quite happy with it so far. It does navigation and music and that's all I really want along with it looking clean. It's not really possible to take phone calls on it easily but that's more on the Elise having a lot of road noise than anything. I didn't end up plugging in the mic it came with for that reason but all around I'm happy with it.
