Best practices for routing the temperature sender line

I'm working on routing the sender line from the temperature sensor mounted on the Mishimoto oil sandwich plate to the gauge on the dash. However, I'm stuck on trying to figure out how to get the wire from the engine area into the seating area (plan to route it then between the seats to the dash). I could really use your guidance. Thanks.

I managed to find an opening into the engine bay at the base between seats. I put a screwdriver through and was able to see it emerge from under the car in the engine bay. Is this way ok?

The other alternative I suspect would be to follow the thick wire bunch that disappear behind the carpet behind the seat back. But that seems to require me to remove the black panel behind the seats (where the rear speakers are mounted). Would this the common way to route the wire?

My gauges are on stack between shift tunnels and dash. They follow the shifter cables like in photo 2 and continue forward around the shifter and to the stack.

I've run a few cables through the cable pass-through behind the driver's seat. You don't need to remove the plastic panel in the rear to access it, because the area is totally accessible from the wheel well and through the speaker hole when you remove the speaker. The only annoying thing is that you will need to stick a wire fishing stick under the rear panel so that you can pull the cable out the bottom. It's not hard. Either way to route cables works, but given the location of your temp sensor, it makes more sense to go in the shift/brake cable port.

Thanks guys. It all worked out based on your recommendation. I was able to route it through the shift able access into the cabin, up the center channel between seats, all the way to the dash.

For the gauge switched power, I T-tapped the outgoing wire from the C3 fuse under the dash. For the ground, I connected to one of the screws securing the OBD port there.

Tested it out on the Mishimoto plate, and I was able to see the temperature on the gauge. Now I just need to install my Mishimoto plate in the engine bay.
