Read the Evora forum and see manual tranny vent issues becoming more prevalent. Read about what happens when a precat blows. Read about splined gears in early sport ratio cars etc. I am done with the V6 issues and yes, the DCT will be vastly nsuperior to the IPS....as decent as it is in the big picture....there is more to life than sound when you rev your car at C&C.....and watch the pre cat b;low out...no joke.

I see a 700 mile V6 manual down to 90 k now....They are getting back to where they belong....FE1 pricing with a respectable negotation, 90K is a fair value. Glad folks enjoy what they got. My disappointment continues beyond the looks.

Not wasting my time on the boy racer bumpers on the 400/GT...never did it for me. My 4C next to one of those makes the Evora look thrumpy

Every car is worth a lot less the minute you drive it off the lot.

Lotus has no marketing presence here. The dealer network is spotty, and some are just awful to deal with. Getting parts is like pulling teeth. Current economic sentiment is low and outlooks are uncertain. Not surprising it’s hard to sell a car under those circumstances, even though it’s a unique and rewarding drive.

When they bring out the I4 GTC, they deal with the dealer network, and the current political nonsense is history, I’d consider it.

Until then, and maybe forever, loving my GT 😻
Well, numb nuts is certainly destroying the market upswing..............................let's put a tariff on it.....................

Indeed nmany folks have gone MANY miles on their Evora. My tranny vent as explained, has nothing to do with tracktime.
The dealerships would void a warranty if you gunned the car at a dealership as that caused many precats to blow out. This fact comes straight from my dealer...it was news to me. Preemptive install of headers is almost mandatory and my dealer encouraged it! 3K and bloody hands now or a 20k motor pull and rebuild later.

I patiently wait for Lotus to stop pulling my chain with detuned versions......................it has always been one of their biggest BS factors, esp with the Eliges. They shortdicked us with the Evora 430 too.

The past 10 years of used car value appreciation is an anomaly. It is normal for cars to lose value as they're driven off the lot. It is abnormal for them to hold or increase value. Especially Porsches, there is no other point in history where a 911, even a special model, is worth more than the sticker price when it's new or just purchased. I remember when the 89 speedsters, club sports, and RS Americas were sitting at the dealer languishing. This is important to remember.

It's also very normal for Lotus to have cars sitting at the dealer. As recently as the EvoraGT we saw cars that were 1 or even 2 years old going to their first owners.

We're returning to normal.
Even Porsche made **** that didn't sell.....................

I think history and the facts suggest you are blowing this issue way out of proportion…

All those that have an S2 and had this issue caused by gunning it, please stand up.

Didn’t think so…
It happened at dealerships before any ownership ever occurred so you you ain't going to see any stand ups sir. Feel free to discuss with Steve Splona at New London Lotus. I didn't make this up, I didn't even know it was real. He was quite direct about it. It happened to folks that cared more about the sound of the motor (raise your hand if that's you) than the actual performance of the motor.

Apparently uninformed.

Does the Emira use the same catalytic setup as the Evora? To which should this be an issue to be concerned by? I was already interested in getting the headers from valvetronic but now you're just made it much more enticing if so!
V6 is same motor....btw isn't this a classic cars n cofee move. Start your car and rev it up for the fan boys. Have never spent a day doing this nancy stuff so I am all ears.

Look, no one believes me but after 2 precats blew out on Steve Splona at Secor, they sent him a notice to not let it happen anymore or warranty replacement would be denied. This is probably not the only dealership to have this occur, not the only C&C event to have this occur, and certainly not the only track car to fail this miserably. The pre cat issue is real. BTW it truly is a bottleneck for the engine power. Headers resulted in a wonderful power bump, sound improvement etc. One of the best mods I did and the hardest one to let go of when I sold the car....esp due to all the bloodletting involved. If I had known the potential damage it could do, I would have changed it years earlier....BTW, went thru emissions with the 2bular hi flo cat just fine. Even the Cali numbnuts can't see them
Peace.

Interesting - would love to see that notice.
Feel free to ask him. barely in the game yet all knowing. c'mon man.

BTW, 14 unsold 24 Emira and 10 2025s in stock at NLL Non assorted....not like there is any waiting list.......................when they get their heads out of their asses........I personally know 5 owners holding back.................3 are collectors with several each. None are playing the incremental game this time esp after waiting an extra 2-3 years. They f'd themselves real good this time. 1 individual owns an Elise, an Exige, 13,17,20 Evora. May have missed 1 or 2. No interest in Emira till they stop playing games.....just like me. I should be halfway or more thru the life of my 1st Emira at present........................instead the delays put me in a 4C that I have turned into a HIGHLY competent lightweight track car...lightweight being the real key here. I am a set of mg wheels and CCbs away from being down to ~2300lbs. getting back to my roots , one may say and my Alfa ownership goes back to 1993 v 2005 for Lotus. Delayed folks ended up in a lot of C8s too for better or worse. No thanks on that overweight brick.

Considering how quickly numbnuts is tanking the economy.............doubtful

I guess we basically agree.

Economics 101. Supply is in excess of demand.

Not to rub salt on the wound, but when looking at collector value, watch what Alfa Romeo 4C Tributo #33/33 sells for on BAT. One needs to ask themselves what Lotus has done wrong...................

He is treating our economy like one of his bankrupted businesses. Even his supporters are turning on him.

It relates DIRECTLY to lack of sales....but we will not OFFEND anyone that doesn't have the stomach for it.

Jesus Christ. Most of us come here to get away from this s*it.
While we are sensoring, let's stop the religious comments also...god forbid hehe

you said "god forbid."
That is forbiden....er, forbidden.
:)
ok, sorry lol.

No, it just seems like certain political comments are acceptable but others aren't.
Either ban it all or not, I can play either way.
There was blatant sarcasm in that sir

Kind of ironic with all the sitting Emiras in a way. The local dealership wouldn't take my deposit and basically told me to beat it. Now they have a dozen Emiras languishing in the outdoor exposed parking lot for months.

Who wants to buy a new car that has been sun beaten for so long?
They told you to beat it. I' d just give them the who's #1 symbol. They'll be sucking "c" soon enough. Lotus has played the incremental tease game one too many times. Will get serious when I see 450hp.....we know 469? Is a production level tune.......my 4C awakened yesterday and the 2375lbs FELT SO GOOD!!

Transitional era. They think they hold all the cards still. For its entire existence, you negotiated when you bought a Lotus. Nothing has changed and once they get their heads out of their ases, everything will return to normal.
Bought my 2005 Elise AT STICKER VIA ORDER. New
Bought my 2010 Evora LE with its 84515 overkill price 7/11 for 60K New
Bought my 2011 Evora S with an ~89500 sticker 5/14 for 60K. New
Bought the 2013 Evora NA IPS car with an 84K sticker 7/20 for 45K....They called it used but it was new. Sat in showroom 7 yrs.

I'm patient, I have my 4C and will get it even more dialed in this summer courtesy of GMS. Might end up being the best change I have done in a long time. They become extremely competitive cars with some relatively basic upgades. Completely different vehicle than stock. Definitely NOT a beginner's track car. We will have CCBs and Mg wheels available this season so I should be able to get it down to ~2300lbs.

I am not alone in walking away.......if Lotus had an Fn clue, they would be bending over backwards to make it up for all the delays to their loyal followers. NLL turned me off last fall too. Zero attempt to lure me in even after I connected them with SCDA to get the cars some track exposure. If I had been offered one at FE1 prices, it would be in my garage...because that is what they are worth, plain and simple. My dear Western Mass collector friends feel 100% the same way.....they have at least 6 Lotus in their collection but in no hurry for an Emira.......we both are waiting for the S4S variant, not just the S4. Hint Hint

Stock it was far behind a stock Elise IMHO. It did have more power. An Elise wouldn't make your a$$ pucker above 100mph like those rear 4c bushings could. Not anymore. I put her up next week to change out the control arm plates I buggered up after the race block install...Add some more camber, get alignment tweaked and she's ready to rock. I still have gut feeling a new Alfa will be introduced in near future

Maybe in another year, Emira gets updated........not some half a$$ed bone, but made into what it should be.....or by then, the tunes release the REAL HP, real seats are available etc.
Evo, will have pics of LARS inserts for my CARBOTECHS soon...complete with a Quadrofoglio emblem

A048s on the street were a terrible tire choice. They were good a while on track but................feel is joy..........Elise had the joy, we both gave the 4C the feel to experience the joy. Cuse the hijack but the thread was getting boring. Lack of activity on the Emira forum tells you all you need to know.................

One of the few things I think Lotus did right was make very few V6 Autos. The I4 DCT is embarrassingly better it seems. I'd love to know how few/many V6 autos were built..Ironically and I will admit it, in the beginning it would have been my top choice.....till I understood the oil pump belt.

I find it also ironic how little action the Emira forum sees till one throws a firecracker discussing something else in the equation. Feel bad for Tennesee and Kentucky . Hopefully our engineer owner isn't involved in that certain industry.

I think at this point all the new V6 manuals are gone off of lots. My order is somewhere stateside at this point and I'm hoping to use some low mileage used comps to get a few bucks off MSRP knowing driving it off the lot seems to lose around 20k-25k right now and I have a pretty distinctive spec. I told the salesman I want to work the deal before I come in so its a sign and pickup type event and he said no problem. He said once they've confirmed a delivery date for the car we can get started on that.
You'd be VERY wrong. Rory, being new to the forum I suggest you do A LOT of homework before making such statements. None of them are remotely correct....YET!
