What is your daily driver?

I'm thinking about picking up a 2005ish BMW 330 or a (same year-ish) 540 wagon.

I honestly like the size & style of the 330 better, but I am buying a house, and will probably be getting a dog, so the 540 wagon might be more practical. Plus I'll bet that v8 is a bit of fun.

What are you guys driving on a daily basis that isn't a lotus?

i drive a 90 honda civic hatchback.works great for deliveries and i dont care too much about parking it in parking lots.cheap to fix.if i had more money for my daily driver i might look at a scion xb or kia soul.they have a bit more cargo area and still get pretty good millage.

After I traded my S2000 for an Exige I needed a second car to commute to work in dense traffic - but of course, I had no money left after convincing myself that I needed the S240... I bought an 87 Tercel from my brother in law for 100 bucks. It smelled like mold, stalled at stoplights and had no muffler. My co-workers all took pity on me when they saw the rusty old Toyota. I never told anyone about the Lotus, I figured I might never get a raise if I did.

In the US you would say it's a small SUV with decent gas mileage and reasonably spacious for a weekend camping trip.

Here in Europe you'd say it is an absolutely unreasonable gas guzzler which nobody needs, impossible to fit into any parking spot and just a waste of resources and money

I drive the Lotuses (Elise/Exige) one day each per week usually. The rest of the time I drive the Range Rover.

Elise...DD and only car. Can't afford and don't (most of the time) want another car; back when I had a beater the only time I drove it was when the Elise was blocked in by more than two cars. That's not an issue anymore!

Just out of curiosity...why is this in the Exige forum?

I drive the polar opposite of my Elise - a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door. It is the slooooowest car I've EVER driven. It goes everywhere the Elise can't (like up my driveway for instance). The tires don't actually wear out, you just get new ones every 50,000 miles because you're bored with the old ones.

But it is convertible (the hardtop comes off in three pieces, very handy), has a 6-speed, is NEVER intimidated by any kind of weather, hauls enough bass guitar gear to get me to the gig, and chicks dig it.

2004 Subaru WRX that I have owned since new and I don't think I could ever sell it. It has never once let me down even with over 5 years of monthly auto-x. It's a lot of fun even when compared to the exige, might not be as fast but the way I have it setup makes it just a pure pleasure to drive. I just wish the insurance was cheaper, but the price is well worth it.

My Elise was my DD until they moved my job and put me in stop and go freeway traffic.

Now, my DD is my '94 Miata R Package.
My wife's DD is a '09 Hyundai Elantra.

Simple cars, and if they get nailed in traffic, I won't lose sleep over it (well the Miata maybe, it is very rare).
