I have had a few sources claim the 05 Federal Elise in the US was 1896 lbs, 1950lbs, and 2006 lbs

anyone have a good source/figure?

Here is the weight of a 2006 Elise

2006 N/A Elise (but I bet the 2005's are pretty darn close.
little less than 1/2 tank of gas
NHRA certified scales (nope, was not drag racing, just had access to the scales)
1955 as driven there that day (hardly anything in the trunk, but the trunk still had the carpet and padding and stock battery, etc)

What options did you have, too? Stuff like touring adds about 30lbs iirc. AC, electric windows, leather, carpeting, and sound deadening all varied, so it could've been 1896 for the bare, base model, 1950 with options, and I believe the 2000lb+ cars were supercharged

2007 Elise w/ Touring Pack, stock, with driver (~200#), 3/4 tank, soft top (no hard top) weighed on a steel company's scale:
Weight 820 front (38%) + 1320 rear (62%) = 2140 total.
Based on that weight, I estimated that the car with full tank and HT but no driver would be ~1980; empty weight with HT, ~1920.

Here's the real deal - rounded up to the nearest pound.

2005 Lotus Elise
No top + empty tank of gas + NO factory options
1893 lbs. (859 kg)

Add Touring Pack option: +15 lbs.
Add Lotus Sports Suspension option: -20 lbs.
Add SoftTop: +11 lbs.
Add HardTop: +26 lbs.
Add Full Tank of Gas (10.6 gallons): +65 lbs.

So the lightest configuration with an empty tank is:
Elise (1893 lbs) + LSS (-20) = 1873 lbs. (849 kg)

And the heaviest configuration with a full tank is:
Elise (1893 lbs) + Full Tank of Gas (+65) + Touring Pack (+15) + HardTop (+26) = 1999 lbs. (906kg)

Basically a 106 lb. range... Mix and match as you please.

2006-2009 model years should be very close but adds the "Delete A/C" option which removes 22 lbs (-22). There's also track pack and stuff but I have no data on those options.

Hope this helps!

Sorry. Yep a very standard USA touring base car:

Stuff like touring Yep
AC Yep
electric windows Yep
leather Yep
carpeting Yep
sound deadening Yep
Stock wheels
Kumho ecsta ast tires
the biggest differences from stock in that pic is
Aluminum radiator replacing the stock radiator.
Carbon Fiber side scoops

the car was "As normally driven". Didnt strip out anything, didnt know I was going to have a chance to weight the car that day.

its really - 20 lbs for lss? The forged wheels are lighter in the rear im sure but there is a good bit less wheel and tire on the front of the non lss car.

Also, only the earlier 05 non lss had dual oil coolers, so for most cars lss adds the wieght of an oil cooler + oil. That has to be 10lbs or so,

My early 2005 sport pack w/hardtop(soft top in the trunk), near full tank + myself weighed in at 1980Ibs on the scale to Boca Grande. Mind you I have current deletes and cf arrow that I have installed as well.

Though this was timely, and funny.
Just got done playing with the scales setting the ride height.

same setup as before,
2006 touring package, all carpets/pads in place, base wheels, electric windows, a/c, aluminum radiator.
only big changes are
adjustable shocks
BOE Rev 300

The car still weighs less than a ton.

I haven't corner weighted my car since last year and have made some changes to it. Back then, it weight 2152 with 3/4 tank of fuel and me in it.

You guys are making me want to put my porker on a diet.

I started from 1984lbs which I got off the lotus website way back when, and if that was off, it was off by whatever I forgot to count... so far, each national event that comes around I hop on the scales the day they set up, and get a weight within 5lbs or so of what I have here...

The 111 Shift: The Build

I measure/track with 1/3 tank of gas because that's what I run at the start of an autoX, and on a few occasions I've been worried I wouldn't make it to the gas station (but did), so I probably end the day down another 15-20lbs from those numbers.

Weighed mine today. Hardtop 2005 sport pack, touring pack. Stock radio still installed, but faceplate out, Lithium-iron battery meant for a Honda Gold Wing, Sport Pack wheels, Toyo R1R tires, smaller mirror, Penske DA shocks, BWR sway bar, full tank of gasoline.

LF 379 RF 376

LR 597 RR 597

1949 pounds total.
