When I had my 1989 Porsche 928 S4, I frequened rennlist which has a thread which has been ongoing for years so thought why not here?

Basically you just post what you did for your Esprit Today (or recently).. it was fun and brought up lots of stuff in a single thread...

I'll start it off.. it it takes off fine, if not mods can of course delete or it will diie it's own death..

--------------------------

Picked up mine from Sports Car World in DFW after having new right rear wheel bearing installed, compression and leak down test and check out AC...

This weekend put some heat reflective material on bottom and side of chargecooler along with wrap for water hose.

ordered a set of stainless bolts and bits for all the coolers up front, as I am taking them down for cleaning, and some of the bolts broke in the process. Nasty old stuff, but should get much better when finished ;)

Cheers,
Redfox.

Thanks Noob, I prefer the 2002's like yours but I know how much cutting and fitting they require as I installed them on my old SE. Hopefully I can appreciate them for a while before I feel the urge to retrofit again!

I probably will end up doing the retrofit sometime this summer as the weather permits.... I dont know that I have seen an Azure Blue Esprit with the 2002 lights installed. I bet they would look awesome as usual! I am also looking at doing the center exit exhaust soon. The stock dual outlet non centered can is just too quiet!!! Damn the list has grown quickly!

I should have sanded mine down first! Those look great! I like the red turn lens. I did that to my old SE tail lights before I retrofitted the 2002 lights. Much sleeker than the rainbow approach with the yellow, red and clear!

I used one of the 3M kits from AutoZone which clears up fogged plastic headlights to polish the tail lights and side lights and also to remove stamps with "Toyota", etc. on them.

I sanded mine down to 400 and removed all the branding. Then sprayed Nite Shades red, three coats. It'll get another sand to 600 then 2K clear. Also after the body paint at final clear, the entire car will be coated including all lights and carbon fiber work.
I'm not a big fan of the round tail lights, or the whole fiberglass panel fit. In fact I removed the center panel all together and just slightly moddified the tail light itself with small curved finishers. Saved a couple pounds, that's the most important thing to me, besides looks.

Installed a new fuel filter (Hopefully a K&N PF-1000 is the correct one). And adjusted the parking brake (removed driver's seat but was surprisingly quick and simple). Yesterday, I got new Nitto NT-05 tires installed. Yay!

I drove it to work today. Beautiful day in Socal. Otherwise there is nothing I needed to do to the car. I feel like I should break something so I can contribute to this thread. Wait, it's a Lotus, something should happen soon...:facepalm

Shot from office with dirty windows.

Did some electrical work today. Changing from external purl pumps to in tank requires a few wiring harness changes. The 88 had two external pumps, had separate wires and fuses ( 20 amp each ). One becomes the new in tank pump feed and the other becomes the charge cooler pump feed ( dedicated and fused)
Sliding lengths of shrink tubing over each other, soldering, then un-sliding and shrinking, gives a clean install.
