Bolt size? - passenger door - 88 Esprit

My 88 Esprit passenger door lost its door restraining lever bolt (whatever it's called - see picture. Even nastier - I opened the door too wide and it made a cracking sound. Can't see the damage, but I'm sure it's there :(

The factory service manual doesn't show the bolt size anywhere.
Rather than go to the hardware store and buy a bunch of random bolts, does anyone know the size/thread of this bolt?

Otherwise, I'll take a SWAG and guess it's a 3/8 diameter thread of some type.

It's metric, Stop by the shop and I'll give you a bolt - Rob.

Pretty common failure. It happened to me on both doors.
I think they are M8 and will fail again. I replaced mine with titanium bolts.

Thanks - Rob's associate John replaced it in like 2 mins - stopped by at lunch (the shop is 1.5 miles from where I work).

It was a surprise. I rarely have passengers and that side broke - the driver side is just fine :huh:
