RS Motorsports (Ralph) wasn't accepting new customers, last time we referred folks to him. 😢 Still supports past customers, though.

Even at that, he has a months-long backup.

If you want, give him a call.
Just gave him a call this week for a pre-purchase inspection. He told me he is retired now and referred me to Lotus of North Jersey in Summit.

Anyone know if Lotus dealerships work on older Lotus? I've got a 1989 Esprit and Lotus of New London not too far away.
They may accept work on them, but it is likely that they do not have 'experienced' Esprit techs. Just guessing.

Lotus of North Jersey has asked for MY help in the past, when they had Esprits in for repair.

@elfy Now that you have 10 posts, shoot me a message if you want me to look at an Esprit near North NJ. I work for :coffee:

But, Randy is their tech and I daresay from major work done on my Evora over the years, he is probabaly one of the best in the business. Two total motor tranny pulls and flawless thereafter.....................

Full disclosure: I work here now, but before I did I had my Evora serviced for a few years and received very good service (otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten involved!)

Mechanic Joe Grassi used to both wrench and crew chief for the Esprit race team when Doc Bundy, Paul Newman and Robert Carradine among others drove the X180R1's. We also have an ex-Toyota line mechanic who knows the Elise/Evora, and another who works on our Lotus 23b, type 79 and our customer vintage race cars.

We do Lotus and Jensen Healey almost exclusively. Have the Tech1 with the Esprit and M100 Elan cartridges, as well as the Lotus Techcentre for the newer cars.

DMn I wish you guys were in CT!

I will be in touch with NLL to see what Randy's experience is with the Esprit. It will be 2 thumbs up if he is also trained in Esprit!!!!

Sadly, I recently found out Randy has retired!

We are fortunate to have several great shops here in Northern CA.

I would like to add to the list for the SF Bay Area.

Barry is a former Lotus Hethel employee, emigrated to the US to work at Jim Loose Imported Cars in Palo Alto in 1982 or so.
He is highly conversant in Seven, Elan, Europa, all Elites, Eclats, and Esprits...
He is doing a beautiful job restoring my 67 Elan.

Other shops send Barry their Esprit trans-axles for inspection and servicing.
REMOVING THE RECOMMENDATION.

Couple yrs ago failed to follow the manufacturer torque specs resulting in a 910 Engine head gasket failure. Exhibits condescending attitude when approached with instructions.

Are you going to add Claudius? I can't vouch for their work but they are well known. A PO had radiator work done there on the car I now own and it was atrocious. The rad was replaced and they put Spall fans in. The welds look like a child did them, the wiring was all loose and hanging, they chopped the fiberglass up so they wouldn't have to drop the whole front, not an example of their best work.

But their 1977 yellow Esprit S1 on Jay Leno's garage Was fabulous. But I guess if it's not you car , LOL you'll get BUTCHERY
